Confirmation statement

What it is

An annual filing (form CS01) that confirms your company's key details at Companies House are correct — directors, registered office, shareholders, PSCs and SIC codes. It must be filed at least once every 12 months.

Why it matters

It's a legal requirement even if nothing has changed and even if the company is dormant. The online fee is £34. Persistent non-filing can lead to strike-off.

Common mistake

Thinking 'nothing changed, so I don't need to file'. You still must confirm the details — silence is not filing.
