Fileminder uses essential browser storage and, only with your consent, optional analytics and Trustpilot services.

Essential storage Required for core site functions and your language and cookie choices. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage (cookie_consent) and in a first-party cookie, fm_consent, which lasts 12 months, so that your choice still holds when your browser limits local storage. If the two ever disagree, we treat your choice as essential-only. We also set NEXT_LOCALE, a first-party cookie that remembers the language of the pages you view for 12 months, so that fileminder.co.uk opens in that language. Two local storage entries are written only when you use the feature they belong to: fm_download_unlocked, so that you are not asked for your details again after requesting a free resource, and fm_cpd, which keeps the professional body and hours you enter in the CPD planner on your device. Essential storage cannot be disabled through our banner.

Analytics cookies If you select "Accept all", we load Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site use and measure actions such as WhatsApp-link clicks. Google Analytics may set cookies including _ga. It is not loaded when you choose essential-only.

Trustpilot If you select "Accept all", we load Trustpilot's widget and invitation scripts so that live review content can be displayed and review invitations can operate. These scripts make requests to Trustpilot and may use third-party storage. They are not loaded when you choose essential-only.

What we do not currently use The site does not currently load Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel or Plausible Analytics.

Managing or withdrawing consent Use the "Cookie settings" control at the bottom of the site to change your choice. Switching to essential-only stops Google Analytics straight away, removes first-party Google Analytics cookies that are accessible to the site, and, when your browser lets us save the new choice, reloads the page without optional scripts. You can also clear site data in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place lawfully before withdrawal.
