About the author
Ibrahem Almahawe
Founder of Fileminder, an AAT Licensed Accountant, and author of the International Taxation Series, eight books covering the tax systems of the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, the European Union, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Canada.
Ibrahem is not an ACCA member and does not hold an ACCA qualification. The firm's accountants hold ACCA qualifications.
Why Fileminder
Fileminder exists for one reason: Arab directors who own UK companies were dealing with accountants who did not speak their language and did not understand their position as non-residents. The firm is AAT-regulated, ACSP-authorised by Companies House, AML-supervised, and employs ACCA-qualified accountants.
The articles published here are written for that audience specifically: what the UK rules actually require, what happens when they are missed, and how that looks from the Gulf or anywhere in the Arab world.
