Director ID verification (IDV)

What it is

A new Companies House requirement for all directors and PSCs to prove their identity. Verification is done either through GOV.UK One Login or via an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP).

Why it matters

It becomes mandatory for existing directors by 18 November 2026. Overseas directors usually can't use One Login (it expects UK ID), so the ACSP route — which accepts Emirates ID, Saudi national ID and Gulf passports — is the practical option.

Common mistake

Waiting until the deadline. Providers get busier and document or video-check issues take time to resolve.
