The UK and Jordan have had a Double Taxation Agreement in force since 2002. The treaty prevents the same income from being taxed twice as it flows between the two countries. Unlike Gulf countries, Jordan imposes income tax on individuals at progressive rates. Jordanian directors who are tax residents of Jordan and receive dividends from a UK company should understand how the DTA applies: the treaty prevents double taxation between the UK and Jordan, but directors may still have Jordanian income tax obligations on overseas dividends depending on their personal tax residency status. Getting specific professional advice is advisable.
Jordanian professionals and entrepreneurs increasingly hold UK companies for technology services, consultancy, and trade with European and regional markets. The UK company provides a credible international structure for directors billing UK, EU, or GCC clients who want a recognised British legal entity in their invoicing chain.
Director identity verification has been mandatory since 18 November 2025. Existing directors provide their personal code with the company's next confirmation statement during the transition. A Jordanian passport may be used through an ACSP such as Fileminder, subject to the current evidence standard, with no UK visit required.
Annual accounts must be filed with Companies House within nine months of the company's financial year-end. Corporation Tax return and payment to HMRC. Confirmation statement annually. These UK obligations run independently of any obligations under the Jordanian Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) or JACPA.
Fileminder is ACCA-qualified, ACSP-authorised, and works in Arabic during Gulf business hours. Fixed annual fees, professional indemnity insurance on all filings.

Will you be taxed twice?
The UK has a double taxation agreement with Jordan. It sets out which country taxes each type of income and gives relief from being taxed twice — but you usually need to claim the relief correctly, not assume it applies automatically.
