- 3Lebanon has personal income tax. Understand your Lebanese tax obligations on dividends from your UK company
- 4A UK company provides GBP banking and international payment access independent of the Lebanese banking system
- 5Annual accounts due 9 months after financial year-end; confirmation statement annually
There is no comprehensive double taxation agreement currently in force between the UK and Lebanon. This means UK domestic withholding rules and Lebanese domestic tax rules each apply independently to income flowing between the two countries, without a bilateral treaty framework. Relief from double taxation may still be available under each country's domestic provisions, but directors should take specific professional advice on their personal position.
Despite the absence of a DTA, many Lebanese directors and internationally-connected professionals hold UK companies for consultancy, trade, and as a stable international structure. Since 2019, Lebanon's banking restrictions and currency volatility have made UK limited companies particularly valuable for directors who need GBP banking access and international payment infrastructure that operates independently of the Lebanese domestic banking system.
Lebanon has personal income tax at progressive rates. Lebanese directors who draw dividends from a UK company should understand their Lebanese tax obligations carefully. Without a comprehensive DTA, the interaction between UK and Lebanese taxation requires specific professional advice.
Director identity verification has been mandatory since 18 November 2025. Existing directors provide their personal code with the company's next confirmation statement during the transition. A Lebanese passport may be used through an ACSP such as Fileminder, subject to the current evidence standard, with no UK visit required.
Annual accounts must be filed with Companies House within nine months of the company's financial year-end. Corporation Tax return and payment to HMRC. Confirmation statement annually. Fileminder is AAT-regulated and ACSP-authorised, works with ACCA-qualified accountants, and works in Arabic during Gulf business hours. Clear annual plans, professional indemnity insurance on all filings.

Can I verify my UK Director ID from Lebanon?
Your Lebanese passport is accepted for UK Director ID verification, no UK visit or UK documents required.
When are my UK company annual accounts due?
Annual accounts are due within 9 months of your company's financial year-end.
Do I need to visit the UK to manage my company compliance from Lebanon?
No. Fileminder provides a fully remote service. Director ID verification and all filings can be completed online.
How is cross-border income taxed given there is no UK-Lebanon DTA?
In the absence of a bilateral double tax treaty, UK domestic rules and Lebanese tax laws apply independently. The UK does not withhold tax on ordinary company dividends under its domestic law, but professional advice is recommended for Lebanese tax residency.
How does a UK company benefit Lebanese entrepreneurs facing banking constraints?
A UK limited company provides a stable, recognised legal jurisdiction with access to international GBP and EUR business accounts, enabling seamless global invoicing independent of local banking restrictions.
Can I open a UK business bank account for my company from abroad?
It can be possible, but it is not guaranteed. Some providers accept online applications from eligible directors living abroad, but the rules differ by country of residence, company and provider: Revolut's UK-company route, for example, accepts applicants only from the countries of residence on its list, and Tide needs a UK mobile number. Each provider decides, and the director passes its checks personally. We help you prepare the documents.
Can a director in Lebanon keep their home address off the UK public register?
Yes. Companies House keeps a director's residential address private. What appears on the public register is the company's registered office, which must be in the UK, and each director's service address, so choose a service address you are happy to publish. Fileminder provides the London registered office, with official mail scanned and forwarded to you.
